1
Luxury Boarding Accomodations
The stallion barn boasts ten 16 x 20 stalls with individual windows providing plenty of natural light. The mesh stall fronts allow for air to move freely throughout the barn and ample views of each stallion. Each stall front has a custom plaque with the stallion's name, parentage and earnings. Staff maintains your stallion's appearance and has him ready to be viewed by potential mare owners.
2
Individual Turn-Out or Exercise Plan
Regular individual turnout is provided based on each stallion's unique needs. Turnout in paddocks or in high-fenced round pens with solid wood walls is available. The stallions also have access to a covered Equi-Ciser.
3
Semen Collection, Evaluation and Processing
Semen is collected using an AV, then immediately evaluated for quality (volume, concentration, motility, morphology) using an iSperm. The semen is processed by diluting it with extender to protect the sperm, centrifuged to remove seminal fluid if necessary, and packaged for chilled transport or frozen storage.
4
Semen Freezing
We collect and process the semen, which is then mixed with a cryoprotectant extender to protect the sperm during freezing. The mixture is loaded into straws, cooled in a controlled manner to a very low temperature of <-120, and finally stored in liquid nitrogen. This cryopreservation allows for indefinite storage of the semen. A test freeze is done to determine the best protocol for a particular stallion.
5
Phantom Training
The process of teaching a stallion to mount a phantom to collect semen for artificial insemination. The use of a phantom eliminates the risk of injury, improves hygiene, and allows you to ship cooled or frozen semen.
6
Epididymal Sperm Recovery
Spermatozoa can be recovered from a stallion that sustains an unexpected catastrophic injury, colic, or other life-threatening medical condition. While sperm collected from ejaculated semen will yield better pregnancy rates, some breeding potential can be salvaged from epididymal sperm.
